Power Jumping Drill

Your dog should be doing full course of flyball and well over a year of age before attempting to train this exercise.  This is how I power jump my dogs when I have no help.  I shape this starting with one jump.  When they take the jump I would say "Yes" and launch the ball. Its important to shape this because if you can't throw straight then your dog will pull out of the jumps early to chase the ball.  If he understands that the jumps must be taken in order to get the ball then you won't run into this problem.  I always set the height of the jumps to what they are currently competing at and I never do more than 10 repetitions.  We find power jumping the most effective exercise to condition our dogs for the competition season.   Enjoy!
